Weekdays from 5:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
South Bend native Bruce Kayser didn't always want to work in radio. After attending Ball State University studying Communications, Bruce actually spent about a year working at a funeral home. It takes a certain kind of person to do that kind of work, and Bruce learned he wasn't that kind of person. But after working part-time for WSBT in the early 70s, Bruce learned he might have a personality for radio. A new job led him to Tennessee, where he worked at several radio stations during his 11 years there, including a station in Nashville. A new job brought Bruce back to South Bend and WSBT in 1986, along with his wife Jade, son Matthew and a southern accent. Bruce did a little bit of everything for the station including filling-in for jocks on vacations, operating the boards behind the scenes, and keeping listeners company on the weekends. Then in 1996, Bruce joined Jack on the Sunny 101.5 morning show, weekdays from 5:30 ? 9:00 a.m. Go figure!
Bruce is an avid bicyclist, and has fond memories of his bike rides in the hills of Tennessee. These days Bruce has taken to riding his bike in what are known as "Centuries", or 100 mile+ bike rides. He also like to cook, especially Italian dishes served with a good cabernet. Bruce is quite the wine connoisseur and says dry, red wines are his favorites. All in all, Bruce says, "Life is good."
