A 322-pound loggerhead sea turtle named Lenny was rescued off the coast of Islamorada in the Florida Keys after being injured in a shark attack. The turtle was brought to the Turtle Hospital in Marathon for treatment, where it lost part of its flipper and received antibiotics. Lenny’s survival was crucial for the endangered species, as only 1 in 1,000 sea turtle hatchlings reach adulthood. After weeks of care, Lenny was released back into the sea, swimming away to freedom.
