Dighton Junior Firefighter Benjamin Courville was honored at the National First Responders Day Celebration in Times Square for saving a girl’s life by performing the Heimlich maneuver at a local restaurant. The 15-year-old received the Junior Firefighter Hero Award for his quick thinking and bravery. Courville’s actions exemplify the values of service and dedication that define the first responder profession. He plans to pursue a career in firefighting and paramedicine when he comes of age.
