In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in Tennessee, a search and rescue team from the Kingsport Fire Department and Murfreesboro Police Department found a dog named Athena stranded in a tree near the Nolichucky River. The dog had been swept away by floodwaters and was stuck about 20 feet above the ground. The rescuers used a ladder to bring Athena down safely and cared for her before reuniting her with her family.
