Chase Wilhelm, a chaplain in the U.S. Army, was honored with several awards, including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with Valor, for his heroic actions during a drone strike at a U.S. Military Base in Jordan. Wilhelm bravely rescued trapped and wounded soldiers, provided first aid, coordinated transport of the deceased, and offered emotional and spiritual support following the attack. Despite his own safety, Wilhelm selflessly helped others and highlighted the valor of his fellow servicemembers during the ceremony at the Illinois Governor’s Mansion. His call to honor and listen to the stories of veterans serves as a poignant reminder of their sacrifices.
