The annual Beacon Children’s Hospital NICU reunion at Potawatomi Zoo brought together over a thousand families and NICU workers to celebrate the progress of children who were born prematurely. The event allowed families to reconnect with medical staff and share their journeys since leaving the hospital. The Croninger family attended to celebrate their daughter Adelaide, who spent four months in the NICU after being born at 27 weeks. Nurse Carrie Higgins emphasized the importance of building relationships with families and witnessing the growth and success of NICU graduates. The Croninger family expressed gratitude for the support and care provided by the NICU staff during their challenging time.
