Dr. Mark Chavez to Plead Guilty in Overdose Case
Dr. Mark Chavez, the California doctor entangled in the tragic overdose death of actor Matthew Perry last October, is preparing to plead guilty. Chavez, who faces a potential 10-year prison sentence, is among five defendants in the case. He’ll admit to conspiring to distribute ketamine and has already had his medical license suspended. Currently out on a $50,000 bond, his lawyer says Chavez is deeply remorseful for his role in Perry’s death.
Two other defendants have also confessed, including Perry’s personal assistant, who admitted to injecting the actor with ketamine multiple times on the fateful day.
